Celebrating the opening of Dome Mountain
On July 9, 2025, Blue Lagoon welcomed more than 100 guests to celebrate the official opening of the Dome Mountain Gold Mine near Smithers, British Columbia.
Lake Babine Nation Hereditary Chiefs and Guardians joined employees, community members, government representatives, investors and industry partners to mark this milestone.
The celebration recognized the years of work and collaboration behind the mine’s opening. Guests also had the opportunity to tour the underground workings, visit the water treatment facility and meet the people bringing Dome Mountain into production.

Members of the Lake Babine Nation shared traditional drumming, singing and dance during the opening celebration, including songs representing the Bear, Beaver, Frog and Caribou clans.
